Plaid is a service to pull banking balances from your financial institutions. Plaid enables FinDaily to import account balances for display within the email template

πŸ”— Create a New Connection

To get started, expand the Plaid configuration on the Integrations page.

You will see a Connect to Plaid button, clicking this will start the Plaid setup process to link your account.

πŸ”Ž Find Your Bank

Find the bank you'd like to connect to using the Plaid dialog. As accountants know, banking integrations can be limited! If you don't see your bank here, it is because Plaid does not currently support it. Click here to search for your bank. Note that we currently only have Plaid’s Balance product connected to FinDaily, and some banks will not appear in the list but are available through the API.

There are two alternatives for loading bank balances into FinDaily via an accounting integration and Zapier.

Our accounting integration allows you to pull in balance sheet account balances. We recommend you schedule the email after bank feeds are updated on a recurring day or manually push the email out after updating the bank feed.

The Zapier integration is manual, but you could have an admin pull the balance and enter it into Excel. Zapier would load the data into the template. Click here to learn more about Zapier.

🀫 Provide Your Credentials

Upon selecting your bank, enter your username and password. Note FinDaily never receives your bank username or password. This information is sent directly to Plaid to ensure your credentials are kept safe.

Certain banks require additional verification steps in order to set up a connection. Once your account is confirmed, you'll see a success screen where you can click "Continue".

πŸ”Œ Toggle to Sync Bank Balances

The final step is selecting the data you want to sync with FinDaily. Currently only bank balances are supported.

Open the Plaid configuration once more and toggle on Bank Balances to sync the current balance for all connected accounts each time an email is sent.

Click Update, this will verify your configurations and setup the variables to be available in the Template Editor.
